New Line Casts Ed & Lorraine Warren For Conjuring Prequel

New Line Cinema has cast Garrett Wareing and Amanda Fix to portray younger versions of paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren in the upcoming prequel, "The Conjuring: First Communion." The film will delve into the early days of the Warrens' investigative careers.

Rodrigue Huart is set to direct the film, working from a screenplay penned by Richard Naing and Ian Goldberg. Huart's selection as director follows his work on a notable short film, which impressed New Line Cinema. The studio is moving forward with production on this latest installment of "The Conjuring" franchise.

"The Conjuring: First Communion" aims to expand the universe established by the successful horror film series, which began with the 2013 release of "The Conjuring." The franchise has since spawned multiple spin-off films and sequels, exploring various supernatural cases investigated by the Warrens. This prequel marks a new direction by focusing on the origins of the iconic paranormal duo.
