Netflix’s ‘Stranger Things: The First Shadow’ Announces West End and Broadway Closing Dates

Stranger Things: The First Shadow will conclude its West End run at London's Phoenix Theatre on December 27, 2026, and its Broadway engagement at the Marquis Theatre on January 3, 2027. The producers announced these closing dates on Tuesday. The London production will have played for over three years by its closing date. The stage play, which premiered in November 2023, is set in 1959 Hawkins, Indiana, and explores the origins of the character Henry Creel, also known as Vecna. The narrative delves into the early lives of Joyce Byers, Jim Hopper, and Bob Newby, and introduces new characters like Patty Newby and the mysterious Dr. Brenner. The production features a cast of 28 actors, with direction by Stephen Daldry and co-direction by Justin Martin. The creative team also includes writer Kate Trefry, designer Miriam Buether, and composer and sound designer K.I.D. The play has been a significant draw for fans of the popular Netflix series, which concluded its fourth season in July 2022 and is slated to end with its fifth and final season in 2025.
