Netflix Releases 'The Whisper Man' Trailer with De Niro

Netflix officially released the debut trailer for 'The Whisper Man,' an adaptation of Alex North's 2019 psychological thriller novel, on an unspecified date this week. The film stars Adam Scott as Tom Kennedy, a widowed crime writer whose son is abducted, forcing him to seek help from his estranged father, Peter, a retired detective played by Robert De Niro. Together, they investigate the disappearance and discover a link to a serial killer known as "The Whisper Man," whom Peter previously apprehended. The screenplay was written by Ben Jacoby and Chase Palmer, with James Ashcroft directing. The cast also includes Michelle Monaghan, Hamish Linklater, and Owen Teague. The film is produced by AGBO's Anthony and Joe Russo. 'The Whisper Man' is scheduled to begin streaming globally on Netflix on August 28, 2026.
