Evangelion and MelGeek Release Asuka-Themed Gaming Keyboard

Neon Genesis Evangelion and MelGeek have collaborated to produce the Centauri 60 "Asuka Edition," an officially licensed Hall-Effect magnetic gaming keyboard. This keyboard is themed around the iconic EVA-02 mecha and its pilot, Asuka Langley Soryu, drawing design elements directly from her plug suit and combat unit. The collaboration is licensed under Khara, Inc., emphasizing the integration of performance engineering with character-specific design. The Centauri 60 "Asuka Edition" features a 60 percent layout, a compact form factor designed for maximum mouse clearance while retaining a dedicated arrow cluster. The keyboard's construction includes a 1.32kg unibody milled from a single billet of 6063-T6 aluminum, finished with aerospace-grade anodization. It utilizes a leaf-spring gasket mount system, supported by five layers of internal dampening to achieve a dense and controlled sound profile. The core of its performance lies in its Hall-Effect magnetic switches. These switches replace physical contact with magnetic sensing technology, enabling a rapid trigger functionality with a 0.01mm adjustment. The actuation range is adjustable from 0.2mm to 4mm, and the keyboard boasts an 8000Hz polling rate. These advanced features are managed by a six-MCU architecture. Configuration is handled through MelGeek's browser-based Hive tool, eliminating the need for software installation and ensuring plug-and-play compatibility across Windows, Mac, and Linux operating systems. The design language of the Centauri 60 "Asuka Edition" is directly inspired by EVA-02 and Asuka's pilot suit. The color palette prominently features red, black, and warning yellow, mirroring the mecha's distinctive war paint and Asuka's attire. Layered RGB lighting further enhances the aesthetic, deepening the red tones to create a visual effect where darker shades recede and brighter ones stand out. The keyboard also incorporates several themed details, including a laser-etched EVA-02 insignia, an Asuka identity plate, a motif inspired by the Progressive Knife, and a rose gold rotary knob, all contributing to its unique visual identity.
