nanamica and REGAL Shoe & Co. Launch Fourth Collaboration

Japanese apparel brand nanamica, recognized for its "timeless standard wear," has partnered for the fourth time with REGAL Shoe & Co., a contemporary line from the established Japanese footwear manufacturer REGAL. This latest collaboration introduces the GORE-TEX Plain Toe Shoes, a model designed to blend formal aesthetics with advanced weather protection and comfort. The core innovation of these shoes lies in the integration of a highly waterproof yet breathable GORE-TEX membrane, a feature that has been a conceptual cornerstone of their previous joint ventures. This technology ensures the footwear remains functional in various weather conditions while maintaining a sophisticated appearance. The design incorporates a formal closed-lace construction, typically associated with dress shoes, but pairs it with a lightweight and flexible stitchdown construction. This method of assembly, often found in deck shoes, contributes to an ease of wear and comfort akin to sneakers. Further enhancing the fit and comfort, the shoes utilize an oblique last. This last shape, which also features in REGAL's dedicated REGAL WALKER line, is engineered to provide a more generous and natural fit that accommodates the foot's natural curvature, particularly around the toes. The upper of the GORE-TEX Plain Toe Shoes is crafted from premium cowhide leather, meticulously tanned by the renowned Japanese tannery Sanyo, known for its expertise in leather processing. The collection is presented in two distinct colorways. The navy iteration features a combination of navy velour for the upper, accented with contrasting white stitching and a white sole, evoking a nautical theme. The black version offers a more understated elegance, utilizing smooth leather with matching black stitching for a tonal, monochromatic finish. Underfoot, the shoes are equipped with a Vibram mini-ripple outsole, providing reliable traction and durability, and an Ortholite® insole material, which is engineered to offer superior cushioning and support for all-day comfort. The nanamica x REGAL Shoe & Co. GORE-TEX Plain Toe Shoes were made available for purchase starting Friday, September 25. They can be acquired at various nanamica retail locations, including nanamica DAIKANYAMA, nanamica D.W.S., nanamica KYOTO, nanamica KOBE, and nanamica FUKUOKA, as well as through the nanamica official online store and select other authorized retailers. The retail price for these collaborative shoes is set at ¥55,000, inclusive of tax. This collaboration continues the brands' successful partnership, building on their shared commitment to quality craftsmanship and functional design.
