IKEA launched KOMPISHÄNG, a new 12-piece collection of portable and affordable home goods on August 1, 2026, targeting renters and students. The collection was developed based on observational research with young adults in central London, aiming to provide stylish solutions for temporary living spaces. The range features durable materials like solid pine, powder-coated steel, and canvas, designed for longevity through multiple moves. Key pieces include a tool-free solid pine desk with a built-in handle for easy transport, and stackable stools that can form a shelving tower. Other items include a wheeled shopping bag that converts into a moving box or picnic basket, a pine mirror with postcard slots, over-the-door hangers, and portable plant storage. The collection aims to offer space-saving and easily adaptable solutions for compact living. Prices for individual items range from £7 to £70 GBP (approximately $9 to $95 USD). The limited-edition KOMPISHÄNG collection will be available online and in UK stores while supplies last.
