Morgan Offers Limited-Run Six-Cylinder Midsummer Coupe

Morgan Motor Company announced the Midsummer, a limited-edition coupe based on its Plus Six model, on June 19, 2024. Only nine units of this bespoke vehicle will be produced, making it an exclusive offering for collectors and enthusiasts. The Midsummer features a distinctive design and is powered by BMW's B58 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-six engine, delivering 380 horsepower.

The car's development was a collaborative effort with Morgan's existing customers, incorporating feedback to refine its features and aesthetics. The interior boasts a unique "bookmatched" wood veneer, a technique typically found in high-end furniture, applied to the dashboard and door cards. This craftsmanship detail highlights the bespoke nature of the Midsummer, with each car receiving individual attention during its construction.

Underpinning the Midsummer is Morgan's CX-Generation platform, which provides a lightweight and rigid chassis. The vehicle's performance is enhanced by the potent six-cylinder engine and a ZF eight-speed automatic transmission. Morgan has not disclosed the price for the Midsummer, but given its limited production and bespoke nature, it is expected to command a significant premium over the standard Plus Six.

The introduction of the Midsummer coupe signifies Morgan's continued commitment to producing distinctive, hand-built sports cars. The company aims to offer unique models that appeal to a discerning clientele, blending traditional craftsmanship with modern engineering. The limited run ensures that each Midsummer will be a rare and sought-after automobile.
