Lin-Manuel Miranda Wrote Moana Song 'Along The Way' in a Week

Lin-Manuel Miranda revealed that he wrote the song 'Along The Way' for the live-action "Moana" within a single week. This track is a new addition to the film, which is a live-action adaptation of the 2016 animated hit. The original "Moana" has achieved significant commercial success, grossing over $643 million globally, and its 2024 sequel surpassed $1 billion worldwide. Miranda, who also penned the music for the original film, shared his experience of composing the new song during a period when he was also performing in "Hamilton" on Broadway, approximately ten years ago.

The live-action "Moana" is set to feature Dwayne Johnson reprising his role as the voice of Maui, and Auli'i Cravalho returning as the titular character. The film's soundtrack will include both original songs and new compositions.
