MILLENNIUM PARADE Releases "Blue" Featuring Saya Gray, Daniel Caesar
Japanese music collective MILLENNIUM PARADE has released its first new single in nearly two years, titled “Blue,” featuring Japanese-Canadian artist Saya Gray and Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter Daniel Caesar. The track, made available today, is the official ending theme song for Science SARU’s anime adaptation of THE GHOST IN THE SHELL.
Alongside the single’s release, a new promotional trailer and a creditless ending sequence for the cyberpunk series have been unveiled, showcasing the track with the anime’s hand-drawn futuristic visuals. This global collaboration began taking shape approximately three years ago as an organic studio project between MILLENNIUM PARADE founder Daiki Tsuneta, also known as the creative force behind King Gnu, and Saya Gray.
The song was finalized when Tsuneta connected with Daniel Caesar during his travels, resulting in an emotionally resonant arrangement that merges experimental production with soulful songwriting. Tsuneta conveyed his long-standing appreciation for the talents of both guest musicians, while Gray described the creative process as a "spicy fun" fusion of their distinct artistic styles.
“Blue” by MILLENNIUM PARADE, featuring Saya Gray and Daniel Caesar, is now accessible for streaming on major music platforms, including Spotify and Apple Music. The release marks a significant return for the multidisciplinary collective, known for its fusion of experimental production and cross-cultural songwriting.
