Michaela Watkins Stars In Improvised Indie Comedy ‘I Want To Feel Fun’

Filming has concluded on Jessica Sanders’ improvised indie comedy, titled ‘I Want to Feel Fun,’ which stars Michaela Watkins. The film is an expansion of Sanders’ short film of the same name, which debuted at the Tribeca Film Festival in 2023. Watkins, known for her role in the HBO Max series ‘Hacks,’ leads an ensemble cast that includes Avi Rothman, Lilah Pate, Vivian Bang, Dave Merheje, Kiran Deol, Zainne Saleh, Finn Harry, Andrew Key, and Gene Kang.

The production took place in Los Angeles and was shot over 18 days. Sanders directed the film from her own screenplay. The project was developed with the support of the Sundance Institute’s Feature Film Program. This marks Sanders’ feature directorial debut, following her acclaimed work on short films and documentaries.

‘I Want to Feel Fun’ explores themes of self-discovery and connection through an improvisational lens. The narrative is built around the actors’ spontaneous contributions, allowing for a unique and organic storytelling experience.
