MB&F Unveils SP One Pavée Diamond-Set Luxury Watch

MB&F has unveiled the SP One Pavée, a new high-jewelry iteration of its 38mm Special Project One watch, first introduced in the previous year. This latest model reimagines the original design, which combined an organic, pebble-like case shape with MB&F's signature three-dimensional kinetic architecture, as an elegant dress watch. The SP One Pavée is crafted from 18K white gold and features a dark blue PVD-coated dial, offering a subtle yet luxurious high-jewelry execution. The watch's defining characteristic is its "floating" in-house hand-wound movement, which is suspended within an interior "amphitheatre." This mechanical display showcases three core components: a single mainspring barrel, a balance wheel oscillating at 18,000 vibrations per hour (vph) positioned at 2 o'clock, and a tilted hour-and-minute dial driven by conical gearing at 6 o'clock. These three elements share identical circumferences and are visible beneath a bezel-free, double-domed sapphire crystal. The underlying architecture is designed to conceal most bridges, screws, and gear trains, allowing maximum light to pass through the white gold case and illuminate the intricate mechanical performance. The SP One Pavée is adorned with 255 brilliant-cut diamonds, totaling 1.608 carats. The gem-setting is strategically applied to the watch's sculptural curves without compromising its aesthetic balance. Specifically, 165 diamonds encircle the pebble-shaped case, 55 diamonds highlight the rhodium-plated amphitheatre flange, 14 diamonds are set on the crown, and 21 diamonds embellish the 18K white gold pin buckle. The watch measures 38mm in diameter, 12mm in height, and has a lug-to-lug measurement of 41.9mm. Its detached lugs rise from the lower case, preserving the smooth, tactile feel of the pebble-like design. The movement is an in-house hand-wound caliber, underscoring MB&F's commitment to unique mechanical creations.
