Marten Hørger Releases "Daily Commute" Single Inspired by Everyday Sounds

DJ Marten Hørger released his new single "Daily Commute" this week, a track that transforms everyday sounds into an electronic soundscape. The single is part of the "Feel your glo" project, initiated by glo earlier this year, which tasked three creatives to find inspiration in mundane daily routines. Hørger's contribution blends field recordings from office settings, train platforms, and gyms with electronic beats.

The "Daily Commute" single was initially one of three tracks Hørger produced at the project's outset. Following a community vote on Instagram, he enhanced the chosen single with additional sound bites and instrument compositions. Hørger stated that developing a track from everyday sounds collaboratively with the community held immediate creative appeal, highlighting his own life centered around travel and finding inspiration in small moments everywhere. He found making others' routine perspectives audible to be the most exciting aspect.

The "Feel your glo" project operates as a creative relay. Following Hørger's musical release, illustrator Danii Pollehn will create a visual art piece inspired by the "Daily Commute" soundscape, also seeking community input via Instagram. This visual piece will then be passed to fashion designer Marcel Ostertag to complete the project with his final creation. The project aims to encourage participants to find positive responses to typically monotonous moments and transform them into creative impulses.
