Marshall Updates Acton and Stanmore Speakers

Marshall announced the release of updated versions of its Acton and Stanmore Bluetooth speakers on March 19, 2024. The new models, named Acton IV and Stanmore IV, replace their four-year-old predecessors and introduce significant upgrades focused on audio performance and user repairability. Both speakers feature enhanced tweeters and bass ports designed to improve their capacity for filling a room with sound. Internally, the speakers have been redesigned to facilitate easier repairs.

The focus on repairability means that components such as the knobs, feet, and the front grille of the speakers can now be more readily replaced by users. This move aligns with a growing trend towards sustainability and extending product lifecycles in the consumer electronics industry. The company has also updated the connectivity options for these new models, including the addition of Bluetooth 5.2, which offers improved range and stability compared to previous versions. The speakers also retain their classic analog input options, such as the 3.5mm auxiliary input and RCA inputs, catering to users who prefer wired connections or vintage audio setups.

Marshall has maintained the iconic design aesthetic associated with its brand, featuring a vintage-inspired look with a textured vinyl covering, a metal grille, and the distinctive Marshall logo. The Acton IV is positioned as a more compact option, suitable for smaller spaces, while the Stanmore IV is larger and designed for more substantial sound projection. Pricing for the Acton IV starts at $299, and the Stanmore IV is priced at $399. Both models are available for purchase directly from Marshall's website and select retailers starting today.
