Luke Skywalker’s saber and Rocky Balboa’s boots will be for sale at this upcoming auction

A lightsaber used by Luke Skywalker in "The Empire Strikes Back," complete with a severed hand effects rig, is headlining an upcoming Heritage Auctions event, with bidding expected to reach seven figures. The Hollywood & Entertainment Signature Auction, scheduled for July 13-17, will also feature iconic items from film and music history. Among the notable lots are Rocky Balboa's boxing boots from "Rocky III," estimated to start bidding at $100,000, and John Lennon's handwritten lyrics for The Beatles' "If I Fell," penned on a Valentine card in 1964, with an opening bid of $500,000. Other significant memorabilia includes hats worn by Margaret Hamilton as the Wicked Witch of the West in "The Wizard of Oz" (starting at $100,000) and Gene Wilder as Willy Wonka in "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory" (starting at $50,000). The auction will also present hoverboards from "Back to the Future II" and the distinctive rugs central to the plot of "The Big Lebowski."
