Louis Vuitton Adds Five Tambour Spin Time Watches

Louis Vuitton has introduced five new references to its permanent Tambour watch collection, featuring the signature Spin Time complication. This complication, conceived as the House's mechanical expression of the "Art of Travel," was first developed in 2007 by La Fabrique du Temps founders Michel Navas and Enrico Barbasini, drawing inspiration from departure boards for a three-dimensional jumping-hour display. All components of these new timepieces, from the cases to the movements, are developed and produced in-house at La Fabrique du Temps Louis Vuitton in Geneva, with the "LFT" seal engraved on the calibres. The collection now includes two 39.5 mm models with 100 meters of water resistance. The Tambour Spin Time Green features a white gold case with a green sunray and sandblasted dial, complemented by a matching green rubber strap with the House's V-motif. The Tambour Spin Time Australia's Opal, a first for the Tambour line, is presented in an 18-carat rose gold case adorned with 68 baguette-cut blue sapphires on the bezel and lugs. Its dial features a blue Australian opal center surrounded by 12 baguette-cut diamond indexes, with additional opal inserts between the Spin Time cubes. Both 39.5 mm models are powered by the self-winding calibre LFT ST13.01, which is visible through a sapphire caseback—a new feature for the 39.5 mm size. This movement boasts micro-sandblasted bridges, colorless jewels, and a 750 rose gold oscillating weight, providing a 45-hour power reserve. The collection also expands to include two 42.5 mm white gold Spin Time Air references, designed for elevated travel experiences. These larger models incorporate advanced features and materials, further enhancing the "Art of Travel" theme. The Spin Time complication itself allows for a unique display of time, where rotating cubes indicate the hours in different cities, offering a visually dynamic and functional representation of global timekeeping. The integration of precious materials like white gold, rose gold, and platinum, alongside the use of rare gemstones such as Australian opals and diamonds, underscores Louis Vuitton's commitment to haute horlogerie and luxury craftsmanship. The inclusion of tourbillons in some references further elevates the technical sophistication of these new Tambour models, positioning them as significant additions to the brand's permanent watch offerings.
