Looking To Score Free World Cup Tickets? Renting a Home Could Help You Snag Them

Airbnb announced on June 9 that it will give away over 1,300 free tickets to the 2026 FIFA World Cup to customers who book select properties on its platform during the tournament. These "select" properties will be available in all 16 host cities, including New York City, Miami, and Los Angeles, with each booking including one free ticket per guest for a local match. Listings participating in this promotion will be identifiable by a soccer ball icon on the Airbnb website. Dave Stephenson, chief business officer of Airbnb, stated that hosts are offering an authentic way to experience destinations and are now helping fans follow their teams by including free tickets in select homes across all host cities. Guests can search for eligible stays on Airbnb.com or the app for dates coinciding with matches in each host city. The average nightly rate for these available rentals is $385. The giveaway covers tickets for all tournament stages, from the group stages across the 16 host cities to the final at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey. Bookings for properties in New York are also eligible. Tickets for the group stages and the round of 32 knockout matches are available for booking now, with tickets for later stages to be released at a future date.
