Lil Wayne Joins Fortnite Icon Series September 12

Epic Games has officially announced the integration of hip-hop artist Lil Wayne into the 'Fortnite' Icon Series, with content scheduled for release on September 12. This collaboration marks a significant expansion of virtual celebrity endorsements within the popular battle royale game, allowing players to embody the iconic musician through a range of in-game cosmetic items. The collection features two distinct outfits designed to represent Lil Wayne's distinctive style. The "Lil Wayne Outfit" is characterized by glowing, pulsing gold graffiti elements that react to the game's audio and includes optional sunglasses. Complementing this is the "Weezy Outfit," which offers an ember-reactive style and allows players to toggle a tank top, hat, and sunglasses. Accompanying these outfits are themed accessories that further enhance the Lil Wayne aesthetic. The "Milli Bricks Back Bling" is designed as a stack of gold bricks forming the recognizable Young Money logo, a nod to Lil Wayne's record label. Additionally, the "Flaming Weezy Board Back Bling" is paired with the "Weezy Boardbreaker Pickaxe," which enables dual-wielding. The virtual ensemble is completed with the "Young Money Stage Glider," which incorporates pyrotechnic effects, and two distinct emotes. These emotes are choreographed to Lil Wayne's hit songs "Lollipop" and "6 Foot 7 Foot," and are presented with Las Vegas-inspired lighting. Three Jam Tracks, including "Lollipop," "A Milli," and "6 Foot 7 Foot," are also part of the release, allowing players to bring Lil Wayne's music into the game's creative modes. Prior to the general availability of these items in the Fortnite Item Shop, players have an opportunity to acquire select cosmetic items early by participating in the "Weezy Icon Cup." This Solo Battle Royale or Solo Zero Build competition is scheduled for September 12. Successful competitors in the Weezy Icon Cup will earn the Weezy Outfit and the Weezy Board Back Bling ahead of their official release. All participants in the cup will receive the "YM Emoticon." The entire Lil Wayne Fortnite Icon Series collection will be accessible in the Fortnite Item Shop starting September 12 at 8 p.m. ET and will remain available until September 21. This partnership follows previous collaborations in the Icon Series, which have featured other prominent cultural figures and artists, further solidifying Fortnite's position as a platform for digital cultural integration.
