Anthropic's Claude Powers Williams F1 Fan Zone Simulator
Anthropic and the Atlassian Williams F1 Team have launched a new interactive experience called the "Pattern of Thought" at their Fan Zone in Piccadilly Circus, London, ahead of the 2026 British Grand Prix. This experience features a custom-built race simulator where visitors can test their racing skills in a time attack challenge. The core of the simulation utilizes Anthropic's AI assistant, Claude, to analyze each participant's driving behavior in real-time.
Claude monitors various aspects of the driver's performance, including braking inputs, racing lines, throttle control, corner approach, and overall risk tolerance. The AI's analysis aims to understand the individual's thought process behind the wheel. Following the simulation, participants engage with interactive stations where Claude compares their telemetry data against established performance benchmarks. This comparison highlights similarities in driving tendencies and decision-making processes, offering insights typically reserved for professional motorsport engineering debriefs.
Upon completing the experience, each visitor receives a personalized "Driving Mind" profile. This profile includes custom data visualizations and assigns the participant to one of 12 distinct driver archetypes, inspired by the Williams drivers. The "Pattern of Thought" experience is presented by Kraken and merges the Atlassian Williams F1 Team's engineering expertise with Claude's AI capabilities to explore the intersection of motorsport and technology, answering the question of what kind of driver each fan is.
