Lamborghini Revuelto SV Debuts With 1,050 HP

Automaker Lamborghini officially unveiled the Revuelto SV during Monterey Car Week, introducing a significantly enhanced version of its V-12 hybrid flagship. The Super Veloce (SV) variant achieves a substantial power increase, reaching 1,050 horsepower and 1,051 lb-ft of torque. This performance surge is attributed to a more energy-dense 7.3 kWh battery pack, which delivers an additional 190 kW to the electric motors. The Revuelto SV demonstrates remarkable acceleration, achieving 0 to 62 mph in a claimed 2.4 seconds and 0 to 124 mph in 6.7 seconds, with a top speed exceeding 214 mph. Production of this new model is strictly limited to 1,963 units, a number chosen to commemorate the founding year of the Lamborghini brand. Managing the immense electrical power generated by the hybrid system presented significant engineering challenges, particularly concerning temperature management. Early track prototypes experienced power de-rating due to excessive heat accumulation within the hybrid powertrain. To address this issue without compromising the vehicle's aggressive design, engineers undertook extensive modifications, including the continuous repositioning of radiators and reshaping of fenders. The aerodynamic design was thoroughly re-engineered, featuring a large, fixed carbon fiber rear wing in place of the previous active component, and enlarged side air inlets designed to channel cold air directly into the engine bay. This intense focus on heat dissipation directly influenced the chassis upgrades. Lamborghini has equipped the Revuelto SV with a Brembo-derived CCM-R Plus braking system. This advanced braking system is constructed from long carbon fibers that are pressed into a uniform rotor surface, contributing to enhanced performance and durability. When combined with new adjustable passive dampers and bespoke Bridgestone Potenza Race R tires, the braking setup delivers a reported 23 percent improvement in cooling efficiency and reduces disc temperatures by 12 percent. Furthermore, the Revuelto SV incorporates GT3-derived traction control, a sophisticated system typically found in high-performance racing vehicles. This technology allows for more precise management of power delivery to the wheels, enhancing both performance and stability, especially under demanding driving conditions. The integration of such advanced racing technology underscores Lamborghini's commitment to pushing the boundaries of automotive engineering and performance in its road-going supercars. The vehicle's overall design emphasizes aggressive lines and functional aerodynamics, with a focus on maximizing downforce and cooling efficiency.
