Lakefront Estate Where Jimmy Carter Kicked Back With Musical Royalty Hits the Market in Georgia for $2 Million

A lakefront estate in Eatonton, Georgia, formerly owned by record label mogul Phil Walden, has been listed for sale at $1.99 million. The property, situated on Lake Sinclair, was the site of annual summer barbecues and parties hosted by Walden's Capricorn Records between 1972 and 1975. These events attracted notable guests, including President Jimmy Carter, artist Andy Warhol, and musicians from The Allman Brothers Band, who were signed to Capricorn Records. Photos from the 1975 event show then-Georgia Governor Carter wearing a "Capricorn Barbecue" T-shirt and interacting with attendees by the lake. The 3,451-square-foot house was constructed in 1953. Listing agent Bobbi Rapp of Atlanta Fine Homes Sotheby's International Realty described the gatherings as "iconic back in the '70s," highlighting their significance to Southern rock 'n' roll history.
