Kyiv monastery set on fire in night of Russian attacks across Ukraine

Russia launched a large-scale missile and drone attack across Ukraine early Monday, resulting in at least nine fatalities nationwide and significant damage in the capital, Kyiv. Explosions were heard throughout Kyiv in the early morning hours. Among the sites struck was the historic Dormition Cathedral, located within the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra, a prominent religious complex in Ukraine. Residential buildings across Kyiv also sustained damage from the sustained wave of strikes. The attacks occurred overnight, with the full extent of casualties and damage still being assessed.
