Jeep Revives Laredo Trim for 2027 Wrangler Special Edition

Jeep is reviving the heritage Laredo nameplate for a limited 2027 Wrangler special edition, marking the ninth installment in the brand's yearlong Twelve 4 Twelve Wrangler Series celebrating its 85th anniversary. This special edition aims to connect enthusiasts with the rugged roots of the manufacturer by incorporating southwestern styling cues inspired by the frontier spirit.

The 2027 Wrangler Laredo is built on the Willys platform and comes standard with the Xtreme 35 package, ensuring trail-rated capability. This factory upgrade includes a suspension lift and equips the 4x4 with 17-inch bronze beadlock-capable wheels fitted with 35-inch BFGoodrich KO2 tires. Powering the vehicle is a 285-horsepower 3.6-liter V-6 engine, complemented by performance brakes and a higher rear axle ratio.

Exterior design elements include retro hood graphics, a sand-colored grille, and a signature tan soft top to enhance the desert aesthetic. Subtle bronze tow hooks and lasso-style rear lettering spelling out the four-wheel-drive designation are also featured. The Laredo trim was originally introduced in the early 1980s as a premium option on the CJ-5 before continuing to the first-generation Wrangler.

Inside the cabin, the Laredo edition incorporates upscale materials and western motifs. The Bison Brown Nappa leather seats are accented with Mayan Gold contrast stitching, and the instrument panel is finished in Global Black trim. The package adds $1,995 to the price of a Wrangler Willys equipped with the Xtreme 35 package and will be available for order later this month.
