Jaguar Land Rover Reveals Range Rover GT Electric Sedan Prototype

Jaguar Land Rover officially revealed the Range Rover GT prototype this week, introducing a new sport-utility sedan model that deviates from the brand's traditional SUV design. This flagship vehicle features a fastback silhouette and a lower ride height, aiming to combine the presence of a Range Rover with the style of a grand tourer. The prototype is currently undergoing global testing, distinguished by a unique topographic camouflage inspired by the landscape near the company's Gaydon design headquarters.

The Range Rover GT prototype is the first model to be built on Jaguar Land Rover's new Electric Modular Architecture. It will initially be released as a battery-electric vehicle equipped with an 800-volt charging system and a dual-motor all-wheel-drive setup. This configuration is designed to maintain the brand's renowned all-terrain capability while enhancing aerodynamic performance. The Electric Modular Architecture is also designed for future flexibility, with plans to incorporate hybrid variants later in the production cycle. Production of the Range Rover GT will occur at the Halewood facility.

Inside, the GT's cabin adopts a minimalist design philosophy, emphasizing sustainable woven textiles and a streamlined dashboard. Traditional physical controls are replaced by hidden technologies, creating a modern and serene interior environment. This approach aligns with a reductive design strategy intended to offer a quiet and refined experience for occupants during long journeys.
