Jaeger-LeCoultre Brings ‘The Collectibles VI’ Capsule to London
Jaeger-LeCoultre launched its sixth "The Collectibles" capsule exhibition this week at its London flagship boutique, marking the first time the curated collection of vintage timepieces has been presented in the city. This initiative, which began in 2019, focuses on acquiring and restoring rare, museum-grade watches from the "golden age" of watchmaking, spanning from the mid-1920s to the early 2000s. Each watch is meticulously serviced and restored by ten master watchmakers at Jaeger-LeCoultre's workshop, with a commitment to preserving original character and patina while rebuilding historical parts. The current London showcase features seven rare Reverso models, tracing the evolution of the iconic reversible watch from its 1931 debut to 2003. Among these are three black-dial editions from the 1930s, including the Reverso 1931, Reverso 1931 Dame, and the 1938 Central Seconds, also known as the "Doctor's Reverso." The collection also includes a 1941 two-tone Reverso, a 1972 Reverso Corvo, a 2000 Reverso Sun Moon, and a 2003 Reverso Art Deco. In addition to the Reversos, the capsule includes five other significant vintage models, such as the Memovox Parking from the mid-20th century, highlighting the brand's historical innovations.
