Isabel Davis Appointed Director of BFI Filmmaking Funds

Isabel Davis has been appointed director of the BFI National Lottery Filmmaking Funds, a role that will see her oversee approximately £20 million ($26.8 million) annually dedicated to supporting U.K. independent filmmakers. Davis transitions to this new position from her previous role as executive director at Screen Scotland, where she served for eight years. Her appointment at the British Film Institute (BFI) is for a five-year fixed-term contract.

In her new capacity, Davis will be responsible for the strategic direction and management of the BFI's National Lottery funding streams for filmmaking. This includes the development and implementation of policies aimed at fostering diverse talent and innovative storytelling within the British film industry. The BFI National Lottery Filmmaking Funds are a crucial source of finance for independent productions, ranging from development grants to production and completion funding.
