iPhone Driver's Licenses Expand to Arizona

Arizona residents can now add their driver's license or state identification card to their iPhone's Wallet app, making it the second U.S. state to offer this digital credential feature. This expansion follows the initial rollout in Colorado in late 2022. The feature allows users to present their digital ID for identity verification at select TSA security checkpoints at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport and at select participating merchants. Apple's implementation of digital IDs adheres to the ISO/IEC 18013-5 international standard, which is designed to protect user privacy and security. The digital license on the iPhone is encrypted and protected by the device's Face ID or Touch ID authentication, meaning only the user can access it.
