Hyatt and Air Canada Launch Loyalty Partnership

Hyatt and Air Canada announced a significant loyalty program partnership on an unspecified date, creating reciprocal benefits for members of both World of Hyatt and Air Canada's Aeroplan program. This collaboration allows members to link their accounts and subsequently earn, redeem, and transfer points between the two loyalty programs. The partnership aims to enhance the travel experience by providing integrated value across flights and accommodations.

Aeroplan elite status members, along with holders of eligible premium Aeroplan credit cards issued in Canada, will gain access to exclusive new benefits and a streamlined path to achieving World of Hyatt elite status. Scott O'Leary, vice president of loyalty and product at Air Canada, stated in a press release that the collaboration "creates meaningful value across the full travel journey," highlighting new avenues for earning and redeeming points, as well as accessing benefits. He also noted a unique feature for eligible Aeroplan Credit Cardholders, enabling them to earn accelerated Aeroplan and World of Hyatt points on Hyatt purchases.

A key benefit of this partnership is the ability for Aeroplan members to redeem Aeroplan points for World of Hyatt free night awards. These awards are valid at eligible participating Hyatt hotels and include options for Category 1-4 and Category 1-7 free night awards, with redemptions starting at 25,000 Aeroplan points. Conversely, World of Hyatt members can utilize their points to obtain a 30,000-point Aeroplan flight reward certificate. This certificate can be applied towards flight rewards booked with Air Canada and its partner airlines, further connecting the loyalty programs across different travel segments.
