MIT Technology Review Reveals 2026 Innovators Under 35 List

The selection process for the 2026 Innovators Under 35 spanned several months. This year, the review received 550 nominations, sourced both internally by staff and through a public nomination system. From this pool, editors narrowed down the candidates to 110 semifinalists. The selection criteria focused on individuals aiming to address major global problems or answer critical scientific questions, who had already demonstrated substantial progress towards their objectives. Semifinalists were then required to complete a detailed application, which included submitting reference letters, video submissions, and résumés, to provide further information about their work and achievements. A panel of 44 expert judges, many of whom are former "Innovators Under 35" recipients and have participated in previous years, assisted in evaluating these applications. These judges played a crucial role in assessing the depth of the candidates' contributions and their potential impact on their respective fields.
