Avios, the rewards currency utilized by seven distinct airline loyalty programs, can now be transferred seamlessly between these programs using a dedicated online tool. The participating loyalty programs include Aer Lingus AerClub, British Airways Executive Club, Finnair Plus, Iberia Plus, Loganair Loyalty, Qatar Airways Privilege Club, and Vueling Club. This inter-program transfer functionality operates at a 1:1 ratio, meaning one Avios from any of these programs is equivalent to one Avios in another, and the transfers are free of charge. Users can make these transfers as frequently as desired, subject to generous annual limits. The primary benefit of this feature is the ability to strategically move Avios to the program that offers the most advantageous redemption rates for specific flights or upgrades, often referred to as "sweet spots." For instance, an Avios earned through British Airways could be moved to Finnair Plus if that program offers a better deal on a particular award flight.

To utilize the Avios transfer tool, individuals must first establish loyalty accounts with each of the seven airlines they intend to transfer Avios to. While not mandatory to create all seven accounts simultaneously, it is recommended to start with programs like British Airways Executive Club, Iberia Plus, Finnair Plus, and Qatar Airways Privilege Club, as these are generally considered to offer superior value or user experience. A crucial prerequisite for enabling Avios transfers is that each loyalty account must have been active for a minimum of 30 days. There is no minimum threshold for the number of Avios that can be transferred in a single transaction. However, most members are subject to a limit of 999,999 Avios per transaction and a cumulative limit of 1,000,000 Avios over a rolling 12-month period. To ensure successful account linking and transfers, it is imperative that users employ the exact same personal details—including name, email address, and date of birth—across all their loyalty accounts.

Once the necessary accounts are set up and meet the 30-day activation requirement, users can access the Avios website. Logging into the tool requires credentials from any of the affiliated loyalty programs, with a specific exception for Qatar Airways Privilege Club. For Qatar Airways Privilege Club accounts, users must instead log in using their British Airways Executive Club credentials. After successfully logging in, the user will find an option to "Transfer now." The interface will display the Avios balance of the account used for login on the left side of the screen. From there, users can select any of the other affiliated airline loyalty programs to which they wish to transfer their Avios. The tool facilitates the movement of rewards currency in any direction between the seven participating programs, offering flexibility for maximizing the value of accumulated Avios.
