How one broken form cost an agency months of leads ft. Danny Gavin
Optidge founder Danny Gavin shared on PPC Live The Podcast that a technical issue with a landing page form caused his agency to lose months of qualified leads for an autism therapy provider client. For one to two months, Google Ads campaigns appeared to be performing well, showing increased clicks and strong cost per lead metrics, but the submitted leads were not reaching the client. The problem stemmed from a failure in the email notification system, which prevented the client from receiving inquiries despite the leads being stored in the database. This technical oversight led to dozens of leads going cold before the issue was discovered. Gavin described the emotional impact of failing the client, particularly because he knew them personally, as more difficult than the financial loss. The agency continued to report positive campaign performance internally while the client experienced no incoming leads, creating a significant disconnect and eroding trust.
