The community demonstrated remarkable fortitude, maintaining uninterrupted electricity throughout the storm. This event garnered national attention following a segment on the television program "60 Minutes," which subsequently led to a substantial increase in new home sales, a trend that has largely continued. According to Benjamin Board of The Ferrari Team with Nicklaus Vance, who specializes in Babcock Ranch real estate, new home sales have risen by nearly 30% in the most recent quarter. He also noted a pickup in resales after a period of stagnation in 2025. Board and his partner, Christy Ferrari, are residents of the community and actively represent its real estate market. They have expressed a sense of security, indicating no need to evacuate during hurricane events.
