Hong Sangsoo Film ‘Nowhere to Lay My Eyes’ Acquired by Cinema Guild

Cinema Guild announced this week that it has acquired the North American distribution rights for Hong Sangsoo's latest film, titled "Nowhere to Lay My Eyes." The acquisition comes ahead of the film's scheduled world premiere at the 79th Locarno Film Festival, which is set to take place in August.

"Nowhere to Lay My Eyes" centers on the character Sanghee, portrayed by Kim Minhee, who embarks on a visit to her mother on Jeju Island. This reunion with her mother also involves her brother, whom she has not seen in a decade. The narrative explores the dynamics and potential complexities arising from this long-awaited family gathering.

The film's inclusion in the Locarno Film Festival marks a significant platform for its international debut. The festival is known for showcasing a diverse range of international cinema and often serves as a launchpad for critically acclaimed films.
