Halide 3.1 Update Adds Perspective Correction and New Color Look

Halide released its 3.1 update this week, introducing several new features designed to enhance iPhone photography. The update, which arrives just six weeks after the launch of the Mark III version, focuses on improving image correction and aesthetic control for users.

One of the key additions is perspective correction. This feature automatically straightens tilted lines in photos, a common issue when shooting buildings or other vertical structures from a low angle. This functionality aims to provide users with more professional-looking architectural shots directly from their mobile device.

In addition to the technical improvements, Halide 3.1 also introduces a new color preset named "Scarlet." This preset is described as offering a "warmer look" to images, allowing photographers to achieve a specific aesthetic style. The update also includes an option for "raw only" shooting, catering to advanced users who prefer to process their images with maximum flexibility in post-production.

Furthermore, the update refines the focus tap functionality. The new "smarter focus taps" are intended to provide more precise and intuitive control over where the camera focuses, ensuring that the intended subject is sharp and clear in the final image. These enhancements collectively aim to offer a more robust and user-friendly photography experience within the Halide app.
