H. Moser & Cie. and Alpine Launch Ceramic Tourbillon Watch

H. Moser & Cie. has introduced the Streamliner Tourbillon Skeleton Ceramic Alpine Limited Edition, the third timepiece resulting from its collaboration with Alpine Motorsports and the BWT Alpine F1 Team. This new watch emphasizes high-performance materials, featuring a 40mm case crafted from anthracite grey ceramic. The case's design maintains the Streamliner's characteristic fluid, cushion-shaped silhouette, with a mix of polished and satin-finished surfaces that transition into an integrated strap made of blue Alcantara. This strap is secured by a black DLC-treated titanium pin buckle. The watch's construction allows for a clear view of its internal mechanics through an openworked design that showcases the automatic, in-house HMC 814 caliber. This movement comprises 167 components, operates at a frequency of 21,600 vibrations per hour (3 Hz), and offers a power reserve of 72 hours. Notably, the mainplates, bridges, and barrel of the movement are finished in a distinctive Alpine blue, complemented by a fully skeletonized gold oscillating weight. Legibility is ensured by the dial's three-dimensional hands and floating hour indices, which are made from Globolight®, a ceramic-based material that incorporates Super-LumiNova®. Positioned at the 6 o'clock mark is a one-minute flying tourbillon, featuring a blue-finished skeletonized bridge, which appears to be suspended. This tourbillon mechanism was developed in-house by H. Moser & Cie.'s sister company, Precision Engineering AG. It incorporates a unique double hairspring designed to counteract gravitational displacement, thereby enhancing timing precision and isochronism. The Streamliner Tourbillon Skeleton Ceramic Alpine Limited Edition is built to withstand water pressure up to 12 ATM. The production of this specific model is strictly limited to 100 pieces worldwide, underscoring its exclusivity. The collaboration between H. Moser & Cie. and Alpine represents a fusion of haute horlogerie and motorsport engineering, with each release drawing inspiration from the aesthetics and performance ethos of the Alpine brand. Previous iterations in the Streamliner series have explored different material combinations and design elements, but this ceramic edition marks a significant step in utilizing advanced, durable materials within the collection. The choice of ceramic for the case offers enhanced scratch resistance and a distinctive matte finish, aligning with the robust and performance-oriented nature of both brands.
