Google finally releases a Finance Android app, promises iOS version later in 2026

Google released the first standalone Google Finance app for Android on June 11, 2024, with an iOS version planned for later in 2024. This marks the first mobile application for the Google Finance product, which has existed for 20 years and previously relied on Flash for its charting capabilities. The new Android app is available globally on the Play Store and integrates generative AI features to help users understand financial market movements. Similar to the updated Finance website, the app allows users to create watchlists, monitor real-time market data, and access financial news. A key AI-powered feature, which initially launched on the web interface in May 2024, generates "key moments" to explain stock performance fluctuations. The AI-powered makeover for the Google Finance website is also exiting beta, making the chatbot a central component of the user experience.
