Future Frames Unveils 10 Young European Filmmakers Joining the Karlovy Vary Film Festival Program

European Film Promotion (EFP) announced the 10 emerging European filmmakers selected for the 2024 Future Frames program on May 28, 2024. These filmmakers will participate in the program at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival, scheduled to run from June 28 to July 6, 2024. The Future Frames initiative, now in its ninth year, aims to showcase the next generation of European cinematic talent. The selection process involved national film promotion institutes and cultural institutions from 28 European countries, each nominating one promising director or directing duo. The chosen filmmakers will have their short films screened at the festival and engage in networking opportunities, masterclasses, and panel discussions with industry professionals. This year's program is supported by Creative Europe – the MEDIA Programme of the European Union, highlighting the EU's commitment to fostering European cultural diversity and the audiovisual sector. The initiative provides a platform for these young talents to gain international exposure and connect with established figures in the film industry, potentially launching their careers on a global scale.
