Fujifilm QuickSnap Celebrates 40 Years With New Cameras
Fujifilm is commemorating the 40th anniversary of its QuickSnap disposable camera line by introducing two new models: the QuickSnap Black and White and the QuickSnap Active. This expansion addresses a growing consumer interest in offline, analog photography, offering a tangible alternative to the prevalence of digital imagery. The company observed a cultural shift towards a desire for dedicated, non-digital devices.
The QuickSnap Black and White model is designed for photography enthusiasts seeking a classic aesthetic. It comes pre-loaded with a 27-exposure roll of ISO 400 black-and-white negative film, offering rich contrasts and textured grain. The camera features a 32mm f/10 fixed-focus lens, a 1/140s shutter speed, and a built-in flash with a range of up to 10 feet. The monochrome film utilizes standard C-41 development chemistry, ensuring compatibility with most photo labs.
The QuickSnap Active is engineered for durability and adventurous use, replacing Fujifilm's previous waterproof camera offering. Its robust housing is designed to withstand various weather conditions and allows for underwater photography down to 35 feet. To accommodate aquatic environments and the absence of a built-in flash, this model uses high-speed ISO 800 color negative film. Both new cameras aim to capture the enduring appeal of analog photography, particularly among younger demographics.
