Hospitals Targeted With Impunity in Global Conflicts

Legal protections for healthcare facilities and personnel in conflict zones are being routinely bypassed, leading to a situation where hospitals are treated as legitimate targets. This trend is evident in ongoing conflicts, including those in Ukraine and Lebanon, where the foundational legal safeguards once considered inviolable are now frequently disregarded. The international community's response, or lack thereof, has contributed to an environment where such violations occur with increasing impunity.

This erosion of international humanitarian law is not isolated. In the context of the conflict between Israel and Hamas, both parties have faced accusations of war crimes. This situation led to the International Criminal Court issuing an arrest warrant for Benjamin Netanyahu two years ago.
