Former Emir of Qatar Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani Dies

Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, the former Emir of Qatar, died at the age of 74. He ascended to power in 1996 through a bloodless coup, deposing his father, Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad Al Thani.
