Evans not motivated more by Wimbledon wildcard omission

Dan Evans stated that not receiving a Wimbledon main-draw wildcard has not increased his motivation for the qualifying rounds, following his first-round victory over Juan Carlos Prado Angelo. Evans secured a 6-3, 6-4 win against the 19-year-old qualifier. The British number four, ranked 125th in the world, expressed that his drive remains consistent regardless of wildcard selections. He acknowledged that while a wildcard would have been appreciated, its absence does not alter his approach to the tournament. Evans is aiming to reach the main draw of his home Grand Slam for the tenth time in his career. He previously reached the third round of Wimbledon in 2022, his best performance at the event.
