Vidal stated in an interview with HousingWire that he is focusing on what consumers are reading and experiencing, citing examples of negative homebuying experiences shared on social media platforms like Facebook, particularly concerning buyer representation agreements. He believes that while the industry may view certain practices, such as buyer representation agreements, as beneficial, consumers are not always perceiving them in the same positive light.

Vidal's strategy involves tuning out the broader industry "noise" and concentrating on the direct needs and questions of ERA's agents and their clients, the consumers. This approach allows him to better prepare his network to address the information and anxieties consumers are encountering. He expressed a desire to let others focus on the "big headlines" while he concentrates on equipping his agents with the knowledge to navigate consumer sentiment.

Regarding the contentious issue of private listings, Vidal noted that the ongoing debate often overlooks the perspectives of both sellers and buyers. He suggested that participants in the discussion are not adequately considering the situation from the viewpoint of those directly involved in a transaction. Vidal shared personal experiences from the past three years where traditional MLS listing strategies proved ineffective, including a situation during his divorce where scheduling conflicts with his ex-wife complicated the process of listing their property.
