The Atlantic announced Joshua Partlow, Ariel Sabar, and Sebastian Smee as new staff writers on October 26, 2023. Partlow, a Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist, previously served as a foreign correspondent for The Washington Post, covering conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan and reporting from Latin America for over a decade. Sabar, also a recipient of the National Magazine Award, is known for his investigative journalism and has written for The Atlantic, The New York Times Magazine, and Wired.
