Braff acknowledged the strong desire from fans and the cast to see the character back, stating, "The fans want this so much, and I so respect that, we do too." He then cited Jenkins' age as a primary concern, adding, "but I think we just also need to be respectful of his age." Braff elaborated on the logistical and physical challenges, saying, "I'll keep trying, but I think, for currently where he's at, it's a bit of a big ask, I'll just say that." Ken Jenkins, who is 86 years old and has retired from acting, has not made a public statement regarding his potential involvement in the "Scrubs" reboot. Fans who cherished Jenkins' portrayal of the outwardly harsh but occasionally compassionate hospital administrator may need to adjust their expectations for seeing the character reprise his role.
