HOKA Hosts "Meet the Speedgoat" Pop-Up in Shibuya

HOKA launched a limited-time pop-up event titled "Meet the Speedgoat" outside Shibuya PARCO in Tokyo, running from Wednesday, September 30, to Sunday, October 4. This event explores the origins and evolution of HOKA's popular Speedgoat trail running shoe franchise. The centerpiece of the pop-up is a city bus stop installation where ultra-runner Karl Meltzer, nicknamed "Speedgoat" for his exceptional trail running abilities, is featured. Meltzer's nickname inspired the shoe line, which first debuted in his honor in 2015. The "Meet the Speedgoat" space delves into the history of the Speedgoat shoe, highlighting its development and connection to Meltzer's expertise on rugged terrain. Visitors to the pop-up can view the Speedgoat 7, the latest iteration of HOKA's signature trail running shoe. The installation includes Meltzer holding the newest colorway of the Speedgoat 7. Attendees receive a complimentary booklet containing detailed design specifications of the shoe and an exclusive interview with Karl Meltzer discussing the inception of the Speedgoat line. On the final day of the event, Sunday, October 4, a special HOKA bus is scheduled to arrive at the pop-up bus stop. This bus will transport lottery winners on a day trip outside the city to test the Speedgoat 7 on actual trails. Entries for this lottery event are no longer being accepted. The Speedgoat 7 is engineered for enhanced traction and cushioning, featuring a high-energy-return, super-critical EVA midsole paired with a Vibram® Megagrip outsole equipped with traction lugs. This combination aims to provide an optimal balance of grip and responsiveness for trail running. The shoe is priced at 23,100 yen, including tax. The Speedgoat 7 collection is available in a wide array of colorways for both men and women. The men's color options include Black/Outer Orbit, Black/Stellar Grey, Outer Orbit/Virtual Blue, Varsity Navy/Barley Flour, Black/HOKA Citrus, Antique Olive/Black, Alabaster/Morning Dew, and Black/White. The women's colorways comprise Barley/Barley Flour, Blueberry/Cosmic Grey, Black/Electric Aqua, and Black/White.
