Despite Economic Woes, Shoppers to Spend More on Amazon Prime Day
Amazon Prime Day sales are expected to increase despite economic challenges, with 57% of U.S. consumers planning to shop the event. A poll conducted by Omnisend surveyed over 1,300 U.S. consumers, revealing a strong demand for deals. Nearly 70% of shoppers indicated that discounts are the primary driver for their participation in Prime Day. Furthermore, 45% of respondents stated they would increase their spending compared to last year's event, with 28% anticipating spending more than $100. The survey also highlighted that 64% of consumers are actively looking for deals and promotions, underscoring the importance of competitive pricing during the sales period. This indicates that while economic pressures exist, the allure of discounted products remains a significant motivator for consumer behavior during major shopping events like Prime Day.
