Danny Glover Reveals Alzheimer's Diagnosis

Actor Danny Glover, 79, revealed on Tuesday that he has been diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease. Glover shared his diagnosis during an interview on the "Today" show, expressing his acceptance of the condition and his readiness to navigate its progression.

Glover stated that while he anticipates his life will change as the disease advances, he is approaching the situation with a sense of peace. He did not disclose when he received the diagnosis or what specific symptoms he has experienced. The actor, known for his roles in the "Lethal Weapon" franchise and "The Color Purple," has been an advocate for various social causes throughout his career.

Alzheimer's disease is a progressive neurological disorder that causes the brain to shrink and brain cells to die, leading to a decline in memory, thinking, and behavior. It is the most common cause of dementia, a general term for memory loss and other cognitive abilities serious enough to interfere with daily life. While there is currently no cure for Alzheimer's, treatments are available to manage symptoms.
