Czapek Launches Skeletonized Promenade Transparencies Aqua Blue Watch

Czapek has introduced the Promenade Transparencies Aqua Blue, a new limited-edition timepiece that expands its openworked watch collection. This model follows the design principles established by the earlier Viridian Green iteration, focusing on showcasing the intricate mechanics of the watch. The dial is constructed from smoked sapphire crystal, specifically engineered to reveal the fully skeletonized, in-house Calibre SXH7 movement that lies beneath. To achieve the distinctive blue fumé gradient effect, Czapek employs a sophisticated metallization technique. This process involves applying microscopic metallic dots, each approximately eight microns in diameter, to the underside of the sapphire disc. The density of these dots is carefully controlled, thinning towards the center of the dial to enhance optical clarity over the movement, while becoming denser at the outer edges to create an opaque perimeter. The watch is housed in a slender 38mm stainless steel case with a thickness of 10.8mm. A notable design element includes custom hour markers, meticulously hand-applied and crafted from solid blocks of light blue Super-LumiNova, ensuring visibility in low-light conditions. The automatic Calibre SXH7 movement powering the watch is a skeletonized in-house caliber, featuring seven openworked bridges that serve as a direct homage to the pocket watches designed by François Czapek in the 19th century. In a move to present a cleaner, more architecture-focused aesthetic on the front of the watch, Czapek's watchmakers have reversed the escapement. Additionally, the small seconds subdial has been repositioned off-center to the 4:30 position. The movement also incorporates a micro-rotor, which is machined from 100% recycled platinum, contributing to the brand's sustainability efforts. Further detailing on the movement includes openworked ratchets, sandblasted bridges, and extensive hand-chamfered inward angles that are finished symmetrically on both sides, highlighting the meticulous craftsmanship. Production of the Czapek Promenade Transparencies Aqua Blue is strictly capped at a limited run of only 38 pieces.
