Curry Barker’s Third Film, an Original Horror Concept, Heads to Universal and Blumhouse Atomic Monster

Curry Barker will write, direct, and produce his third feature film, an original horror concept, with Blumhouse Atomic Monster and Universal Film Group. This project marks Barker's return to Universal, following the success of his debut feature, "Obsession." The deal was facilitated through Barker's existing relationship with Blumhouse Atomic Monster, a production company co-founded by James Wan, Jason Blum, and Ryan Turek, and also involves producers Roy Lee and Steven Schneider. Barker's "Obsession" achieved significant box office success, grossing over $100 million worldwide. The new horror film's concept remains undisclosed, but its development signals a continued collaboration between Barker and Blumhouse, known for its successful horror franchises like "The Purge" and "Insidious." Universal Film Group, a division of NBCUniversal, will distribute the film globally. The partnership underscores Blumhouse Atomic Monster's strategy of nurturing emerging directorial talent in the horror genre.
