Craig Conover, a cast member of "Southern Charm," recently disclosed that he contemplated purchasing a rental property using the proceeds from the sale of an engagement ring he had bought for "Summer House" alum Paige DeSorbo. The couple ended their relationship in November 2024 after approximately three years together. In an appearance on the "Two Ts in a Pod" podcast with hosts Teddi Mellencamp and Tamra Judge on September 16, Conover shared that he had only recently managed to sell the diamond, which was intended for a proposal. He detailed the process of acquiring the ring, explaining that he did not simply buy a pre-made item but rather selected a stone and commissioned its creation. Conover worked with a jeweler in New York to design the ring. He described the sale as challenging due to the ring's specific style, noting that it featured a "very popular cut at the time" whose demand had since decreased. During a prior interview on "The Toast" in June 2025, Conover characterized the ring as a "4-carat elongated cushion-cut" platinum piece, enhanced with a "hidden halo underneath it." Following the couple's separation in November 2024, Conover received an unexpected offer for the stone. He recalled a text message stating, "I have a buyer for the stone. You're going to eat some, but is this number OK?" Conover accepted the offer, finding the amount satisfactory. He indicated that the money recouped was substantial enough to consider an investment in a rental property. The Charleston, South Carolina, resident also characterized the transaction as a "bonus," admitting he had largely "forgotten about" the ring. Conover further elaborated on the ring's purchase during his "The Toast" interview, mentioning advice from the jeweler at the time of acquisition that he found helpful in navigating the eventual sale. He acknowledged that returning an engagement ring is not a typical or planned event, but the jeweler's guidance proved beneficial.
