Country Music Association Names Brittany Schaffer New CEO

The Country Music Association (CMA) announced on Wednesday that Brittany Schaffer will assume the role of Chief Executive Officer. Schaffer is set to succeed Sarah Trahern, who has led the organization for 13 years.

Schaffer's tenure as CEO will officially begin on January 1, 2027. Currently, she serves as a dean at Belmont University. Prior to her role at Belmont, Schaffer held a significant executive position within Spotify's country music operations, indicating a strong background in both music industry leadership and digital streaming platforms.

Trahern's departure marks the end of a significant chapter for the CMA, having guided the association for over a decade. The transition to Schaffer is expected to bring fresh perspectives and continued leadership to the organization, which plays a pivotal role in promoting and supporting country music globally.
